Get Ready for Wednesday Night Biking
By Lou Anzalone
Starting April 2nd, KOPSC bicyclists will spring into action. We'll be cycling every Wednesday night through October 29th when we'll "fall back" into our winter habits.
This is a great opportunity for riders of all levels to get out together. We meet every half-hour at the Valley Forge National Park Visitors Center lower parking lot from 5:30 PM to dusk for an approximately six-mile loop in the park. There are changing rooms and rest rooms, and water is available. You can join us at any time, ride at any pace, and still get to enjoy the social and physical benefits of bicycling with a group of friends. The Visitors Center is at the main entrance of the park at Route 23 (at the Route 422 Valley Forge exit).
Starting April 30th through August at 6:30 PM, some riders will head out of the park for an 18-to-24 mile loop, returning at approximately 8:00. Also, we will alternate dining at different establishments such as:
LaTaverna at Route 23 and Pawlings Road near Phoenixville
Applebee's at Trooper and Egypt Roads in Jeffersonville
Champps at Mall and Goddard Boulevards in KOP
Fox & Hound at Mall in KOP
Once each month from May through August, we will ride from someplace other than Valley Forge Park. Keep an eye on the Monthly Mogul for dates and locations. If you have an idea for a location or you are interested in leading one of these alternate rides please call Lou Anzalone at 610-983-3137 at least 45 days before the desired date. Contact Lou for more information.
