KOPSC Makes the News
By Jeri Hoyt
Be proud---King of Prussia Ski Club is one of the hottest ski clubs for singles in the area! In a recent article by Don Sapatkin for the Philadelphia Inquirer, the King of Prussia Ski Club was acknowledged as being “more conducive to romance.” The following is an excerpt:
“With more than 20 active ski clubs around the region, there are differences both subtle and stark. Main Line is a bit older than most (80 percent over 50); Upper Bucks, more family-oriented (80 percent couples or families); Alphorn, more traditional (lots of jackets and ties at dinner meetings); King of Prussia, more conducive to romance (minimum age 21 at all events).”
Although our membership is actually 486 subscribing members, the article’s stats for King of Prussia Ski Club were fairly accurate! Don listed our ski club, along with others from the Eastern Pennsylvania Ski Council, with the following description:
“ King of Prussia www.kopsc.com. 610 members, most from western suburbs, 5% under 35, 55% ages 35-50, 40% over 50; 75% single. Very social, adults-only group with events every weekend …, tennis, biking & hiking groups, racing team; 40% join with little or no experience. Trips: 1 local, 4 East, 3 North America , 1 overseas. Meetings: 3d Tue, 7:30 p.m., Radisson at Valley Forge Convention Center (100 attend).”
