Naughty or Nice By Brian Brady

We had 38 naughty and 43 nice members and guests at the December meeting and Holiday party. If you were at the meeting you know how I know, and no I am not Santa Claus. If you weren’t there, you missed out on a great time with Steve-O playing Holiday favorites and great dance tunes all evening. You also missed an opportunity to get your picture taken with Santa Claus and give him your wish list. In the back of the room, Stu was showing pictures and movies of past ski trips and other club events. And you thought what happened on a trip, stayed on the trip.

Our Snow Angels collected a few car loads of toys, coats, toiletries and snack foods for local charitable organizations. For years now KOPSC has been delivering toys to children at Laurel House. This year, coats went to Impact Services who will make sure they go to some needy folks. Toiletries and snack foods went to Circle Lodge.

For our raffle, we gave away a nice selection of booze, beer and wine as well as some donated items including, jars of candy, a KOPSC polo shirt, and a couple of, let’s just say interesting items. Joe, Steve, Eric, Sue, Carl, Ann, Dot, Barb, Lois and twice winner Joe took these prizes home. Linda won $38 and Lori won $76.

Our baking contest didn’t go over too well. Ellen and I were the only two entries, so we split the prizes. Ellen made Nutter Butter Santa Cookies with Vanilla Icing that were really yummy. I made an Irish Whiskey Makes Her Frisky Cake which disappeared rather quickly, probably just because it had booze in it.

Our next meeting is January 17, 2012. By then you should have at least a few days on the slopes and if you don’t ski, I hope Mother Nature permits you to build a snowman.

As always, general membership meetings are held at The Jeffersonville Golf Club on the third Tuesday of each month. Beer, wine, mixed drinks and an assortment of hot and cold food selections are available for purchase.

Here are our logo fleece wear and ball caps. Ball caps are available now in pink or stone colors with the KOPSC logo embroidered on the front. They are $8. We are taking orders for men’s and women’s fleece jackets and vests through at least the October meeting. They are available in a variety of colors and sizes and have the KOPSC logo embroidered on the upper left chest. Prices are as follows:

The general membership meetings for the ski club are held on the third Tuesday of each month from September through April.

There are special happenings at many of the meetings to celebrate holidays or have auctions to raise money for the club, etc. If you would like to help out at meetings, contact Brian Brady .
