February Meeting Summary

Sunday was Valentines Day, Monday was Presidents Day, Tuesday was Fat Tuesday and the Winter Olympics were well underway. It was just too hard to pick a single theme for the February meeting. Everyone seemed to enjoy lots of kisses, Hershey’s Kisses that is, that were spread around the tables in celebration of Valentines Day. The 50/50 raffle gave away a lot of Washington’s, Lincolns and Jacksons appropriate for President’s Day. I noticed quite a few women wearing Mardi Gras beads. I wondered how they earned them but was too polite to ask. Our very own Ski Fraulein got everyone thinking that they could be an Olympic champion with her inspiration to participate in our own EPSC Council Cup races.

In spite of more than 75 members being on the Telluride trip, nearly 80 members and guests attended the February meeting. Our raffle prizes included donated items from Whitefish Mountain and Steamboat. Jeff, won a water bottle, Borders gift card and lens cloth. Jim won a tee shirt, ball cap and fanny pack. Lou, Larry, Steve, Chris and Jim won bottles of wine and booze. Nick won $34 and Helen won $68.

Wear green for our next general membership meeting on March 16, the day before St. Patrick’s Day. Back by popular demand, Swing Kat Entertainment will be offering dance lessons prior to the meeting. Dance lessons will begin promptly at 7:00 pm. The Snow Angels will be having a special collection for our furry friends at the SPCA and non-perishable food items for local food banks. The Programs Committee will be selling KOPSC logo merchandise next to the sign-in table and, of course, raffle tickets for more great prizes.

Our general membership meetings are held at The Jeffersonville Golf Club on the third Tuesday of each month. Beer, wine, mixed drinks and an assortment of hot and cold food selections are available for purchase.
