Meet the Candidates

The following people have generously offered to run for a position on the KOPSC board of directors. Please vote using this ballot provided.

Larry Gordon
Candidate for President

Hello, I 'm Larry Gordon. I am running for re-election to the position as President of this wonderful organization. I've been a member of the King of Prussia Ski Club for more than 10 years. Wow, more than 10 years! During those years, I have run ski trips, assisted on others, and most recently had the opportunity to be your President this past year.

The ski club is an important part of my life. It has contributed so much to my life these many years. It has enabled me to meet and befriend so many wonderful people that, in many ways, have become as close as family. It has allowed me to reignite my passion for skiing and exposed me to many other activities that I had forgotten I liked.

This past year has seen an increase in membership, a return to nearly selling out every ski trip offered and many more new and exciting events being planned. This is only possible with the continued support of you, the many committees, and board members who initiate and support the programs that make this club what it is today and keep this club moving forward.

I would be proud to continue to serve as your president and would be honored with your vote so we can continue to keep this positive momentum.

Donna Becker
Candidate for Vice President

I have been a member of the KOPSC for almost three years now and have wanted to become more involved in the operation of this great group of people. As many of you may know, I’ve recently gotten involved with the Programs Committee and you can see me as you come in the door. This has given me the opportunity to meet and get to know many of our wonderful members. I feel that the time has come for me to assume a greater responsibility in the club and as such, I am running for Vice President.

With my background in customer service as an office manager and sales and marketing representative, I believe that I bring exceptional people skills as well as organizational abilities to the position. Although I have only been a member for a short period of time, I think that this is a plus in that I have enthusiasm and a fresh point of view regarding the club’s future. I’m looking forward to meeting even more of the members and am also looking forward to the opportunity to serve you as your Vice President. Thank you.

Dot Roantree
Candidate for Secretary

I have been a legal secretary for over ten years. I served on the Cheltenham Athletic Association in the capacity of secretary for 2 years. I served as an assistant coach/manager for several elite travel soccer teams and assisted players who desired to be seen and recognized by college coaches during their recruiting. This position required me to compose resumes for each player, compile booklets for college coaches at tournaments, in addition to applying to major tournaments, making hotel reservations, travel accommodations for over 18 players and their families. I have enjoyed the fruits of the labor of the past KOPSC leaders and hope to now utilize my abilities to assist this organization..

Paul O’Connell
Candidate for Treasurer

I was born and raised in Berwyn , PA and have been a member of the ski club for about five years. I’ve had a lot of fun and made a lot of new friends in that time, and I’m looking for an opportunity to contribute something back to the club. Given my financial background, I feel the Treasurer’s role would be a good fit.

I’ve been a financial analyst in the commercial real estate industry for the last 14 years, involved in the valuation and sale of over $4 billion of investment properties for third-party clients, so I’m very comfortable with numbers. I also have previous experience as a Treasurer, having served in that role for two years with the American Singles Golf Association, another local sports/social group. I received my MBA in finance from William & Mary College in 1987, and my undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in 1981. I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to this great club, and look forward to serving as your Treasurer.

Wally Sliwinski
Candidate for Treasurer

I have been active in the club since 1986, participating in many activities, especially ski trips, including organizing the club's last road rally. I gladly served as Treasurer for the 1993-94 season, and I will happily repay the club for all the good times I have had with it by serving again. I am single, retired from Unisys since April 2006 where I did operating systems development and support. Besides skiing, my club interests have included volleyball, tennis, golf, bicycling, sailing and walking/hiking. Other interests are movies, classical music, Tournament Bridge and games in general.

Joyce Molinaro
Candidate for Member At Large

I joined the Club in 2000 and immediately served on the Programs Committee.  In my second year of membership I was Vice-President and active with the Eastern Pennsylvania Ski Council (EPSC) Board events.  I also served on the EPSC Board for three years as recording secretary. I was assistant trip leader on 2 ski trips and served on the Welcoming Committee. If you vote for me, I can continue to be involved and help improve the interests of the membership and the King of Prussia ski club.

Anne Ceres
Candidate for Member at Large

I have been a member of the KOPSC for two years. I led the 2008 trip to Jackson Hole , Wyoming and have served on the Publicity Committee since December 2006. I have met and worked with some wonderful people/members and helped to make our club more recognizable in the King of Prussia area. I am employed full-time with Morris Nichols Arsht & Tunnell LLP as a Floater Administrative Assistant, and am a licensed realtor (DE/PA) with Witsil, Realtors. I enjoy skiing, sailing, working out, travel, theatre, arts and coordinating projects. If elected, I’ll be sure to do a good job to represent our club members.
